It's safe that say that life for Australian actor Ben Rigby is about to change.

After recording an audition tape in October 2015, the 27 year old was recently cast in a major role in Aliens prequel, and Prometheus sequel, Alien: Covenant, which he'll feature in alongside Michael Fassbender and Katherine Waterston under the direction of Ridley Scott. The rising star got the all-important call about the part while working a shift at Melbourne's Cinema Nova where he's been for the last six years in between acting gigs, and his part in the anticipated flick comes hot on the heels of him playing a minor role in the Weinstein produced Lion, next to Nicole Kidman, Rooney Mara and Dev Patel. Alien begins shooting in Australia this spring - set for release in 2017 - but keen to remain grounded, Rigby has said he plans to hold down his cinema job while filming to retain a sense of normality in his life.
